Ter-Ovanesov Mikhail Dmitrievich
Regular Member of the International Gastric Cancer Association (IGCA), the International Society for Digestive Surgery (ISDS), The International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA), European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS).
Author and co-author of over 200 scientific papers, 3 monographs, encyclopedias on oncology and 2 textbooks.
In 1998 - defense of the thesis for the title of candidate of medical science "Extended two- and three-zone lymph node dissection in the surgical treatment of cancer of the intrathoracic esophagus." After defending his Ph.D. thesis, he worked as a senior researcher of the Тhoraco-abdominal department of the Federal Institution “Russian Oncology Center named after N.N. Blokhin”, participated in development of several international scientific protocols on stomach cancer. During his work, he took part in International Scientific Congresses dedicated to the problems of surgical and combined treatment of tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and lung cancer, where he gave verbal and poster presentations, plenary lectures.
2004 - Doctor Ter-Ovanesov developed and introduced into clinical practice the procedure of hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemoperfusion in a wide range of abdominal oncopathologies in combination with extended interventions, including subtotal peritonectomy. For the introduction of this method of combined treatment in 2009, he was awarded the Order of N.I. Pirogov, III degree.
2005 - Doctor Ter-Ovanesov received the highest qualification category in thoracic surgery.
In 2007 -defense of the thesis for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences "Prognosis factors for surgical treatment of cancer of the proximal gaster."
In 2011 -Doctor Ter-Ovanesov completed a course and received a diploma in bilio-pancreato-duodenal surgery at the University of Paris under the guidance of Professor Rene Adam (Diploma of the European University Paris Sud).
In 2013, he became a member of the Scientific committee of the 10th International Congress on Stomach Cancer (10th IGCC, Verona), took part in the development of the international standard for the management of patients after surgical treatment of gastric cancer “Charter Scaligero”.
