Alexey Sergeevich, since he was a child, knew that he would be a doctor. The future doctor spent most of his life in the hospital, as his mother was a pediatrician, and when she went on duty, he often "was on duty" with her too. So, even as a child, Aleksey Shevchuk saw the work of doctors and nurses, communicated with little patients, and already became akin to the medical field.
In 1993, Aleksey Sergeevich entered the Moscow Medical Academy named after I.M. Sechenov. When he was a senior student, he was already engaged in an oncology scientific circle at the Russian Oncological Center named after N.N. Blokhin. Then he decided to link his professional activities with oncology, not only with the clinical but also with its scientific part.
Mister Shevchuk completed his residency and postgraduate studies at the Moscow Research Oncological Institute named after P.A. Herzen. After finishing of postgraduate studies, he remained at the Moscow Research Oncological Institute named after P.A. Herzen to work. There he rose from a junior to а leading researcher. Later he worked as the Нead of the department of gynecological oncology at the Moscow City Oncological Hospital No. 62. Since 2018 he held the position of the Head of the department at the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin.
The doctor's career began at a time when gynecological oncologists did not actively communicate with foreign colleagues. If we take the gynecological oncology community, Alexey Sergeevich was one of the first to speak at foreign congresses and establish international cooperation. However, in the 2000s, no one was involved in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery in Russian gynecological oncology; there was no one to learn from.
Then, such trips, internships, and practical courses contributed to the introduction of these technologies into domestic clinical practice. Under the guidance of his mentor, Professor Elena Grigorievna Novikova, doctor Shevchuk was engaged in the organ-preserving treatment of malignant tumors of the female reproductive system.
Now Dr. Shevchuk is one of the leading experts in the field of endoscopic video technologies. Also, he is the author and co-author of several original methods of organ-preserving treatment.
Mister Shevchuk is the author of over 150 works published in domestic and foreign literature, organizer of all-Russian and international conferences, and masterclasses on gynecological oncology. Doctor Shevchuk is the laureate of the 2017 "Reproductive Tomorrow of Russia" awards, the 2020 "ProDoctors" All-Russian Award.
Doctor Shevchuk is the author of over 130 scientific publications in Russian and foreign press, including 3 monographs. He is the participant of Russian (more than 70 reports) and foreign (more than 10 reports) congresses and conferences, direct organizer of scientific and practical events and master classes in oncogynecology. The developer of original organ-preserving surgeries for borderline tumors and invasive cervical cancer.
