Mister Petrovskiy grew up in a family of doctors, so choosing a medical specialty was natural for him. He entered the school at the First Medical Institute, and already starting from the 10th grade, he was passing the internship at the surgical intensive care unit once a week.
When he entered the institute, Professor Mikhail Ivanovich Nechushkin said: “Come to me, I will teach you everything,” and he kept his word! At that time, the future Head of the surgical department has become quite regular at the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin, practicing and spending all the holidays and even free time here.
His professor shared his experience with Alexander Petrovskiy and supported him, allowing him to develop freely. So, mister Petrovskiy interned for two years at Harvard Medical School and gained experience in clinics in Italy, Germany, and Israel, where he took part in treating patients with breast cancer.
In parallel with clinical work, mister Petrovskiy conducts lectures at the Department of Oncology of the First Moscow Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov: “I am happy to see how young people who were just recently my students become recognized experts in their fields.”
Academician Mikhail Ivanovich Davydov invited mister Petrovskiy to participate in some projects on the organizational and methodological development of the oncological service in Russia.
In 2013-2019, doctor Petrovskiy worked as the executive director of the Association of Oncologists of Russia. After that, he became the Deputy Director of the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin on regional cooperation. At the moment, Alexander Petrovskiy is also the Deputy Director of the Oncology Center for Education.
